EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Evansville’s baseball game with Austin Peay scheduled for Tuesday night has been postponed due to a security threat at Braun Stadium. The Purple Aces and Governors are slated to play next Wednesday in Clarksville, Tenn.
The following statement was issued by Dana Clayton, UE’s Vice president of Student Affairs/Dean of Students
“The UE Athletics Twitter account received a nondescript threat today that is currently under investigation by the Evansville Police Department. The University of Evansville has canceled tonight’s scheduled baseball game at Braun Stadium. In light of yesterday’s tragic events in Boston, we are taking this extraordinary measure as our first priority is the safety and security of our students and guests. We will continue to work with the EPD to evaluate the situation."
