EVANSVILLE, Ind. – A pair of home matches will mark the end of the regular season this weekend as the University of Evansville women’s tennis team will play host to Wichita State and Creighton this weekend.

On Saturday, Wichita State comes to town for a 1 p.m. contest while Sunday’s finale versus Creighton is slated to start at 10 a.m.  Both matches will be held at Wessleman Park and attendance is free of charge.

Evansville begins the weekend with an even 9-9 mark following an 8-1 win over USI on Wednesday evening.  Marketa Trousilova improved to 14-1 in singles action in the spring while she and Natasha James are 14-3 in doubles.

Second on the squad behind Trousilova’s total is Gaby Fifer, who has 11 singles victories with five of those coming in the fifth flight.  James and Marina Moreno check in with nine singles triumphs apiece.

Wichita State sits in a tie with Southern Illinois atop the conference standings as they are a perfect 5-0 in league play.  The Shockers are 10-10 overall and are led by Rebecca Pedrazzi, who has 16 singles victories.  Just behind her is Satjaporn Mahajaroenkul, who has notched 14 victories.  Julia Schiller is 10-5 overall, but has gone a perfect 5-0 in the MVC.

Creighton begins the weekend at 8-9 overall and 1-4 in five conference matches.  The Bluejays picked up their first MVC win last weekend in the form of a 5-2 win over Bradley as CU celebrated Senior Day.  Prior to that, Creighton fell in matches at Northern Iowa and Drake.

Following its final regular-season weekend, UE will travel to Wichita, Kan. for the MVC Team Championships.  They are set to take place from April 26 through the 28th.
