EVANSVILLE, Ind. – University of Evansville women's soccer head coach Krista McKendree unveiled the Purple Aces 2013 schedule Tuesday afternoon, a slate that will consist of 18 contests, including 10 home matches.

Evansville will play an exhibition contest Wednesday, Aug. 14 at Austin Peay, before opening its regular-season schedule by hosting Morehead State on Aug. 16.

"We are looking forward to getting things started in August," McKendree said.  "We have a lot of momentum and had a very positive spring season.  Our returning group is more ready than ever to come back and work toward competing for another championship.  The goal is to be playing our best soccer when we reach our conference game and I believe our non-conference schedule will prepare us for that."

In non-conference play, the Aces will host Murray State (Aug. 23), UT Martin (Aug. 30), IUPUI (Sept. 6), Belmont (Sept. 13), Valparaiso (Sept. 15) and Western Kentucky (Oct. 27) and travel to Tennessee Tech (Aug. 25), Xavier (Sept. 4), St. Louis (Sept. 8), Eastern Kentucky (Sept. 20) and Bowling Green (Sept. 22).

For its contest against IUPUI on Sept. 6, UE will sport orange uniforms as part of Multiple Sclerosis Night.

Evansville will begin its defense of its 2012 Missouri Valley Conference regular-season championship when it hosts Drake for its conference opener Sunday, Sept. 29.  The Aces will also host conference foes Missouri State (Oct. 12) and Loyola (Oct. 31) and will have road contests against MVC opponents Northern Iowa (Oct. 6), Indiana State (Oct. 17) and Illinois State (Oct. 20).

The first round of the MVC Tournament will be conducted at campus sites on Nov. 3, before UE plays host to the second and third rounds at Arad McCutchan Stadium Nov. 8-10.

"There should be some very entertaining matches for the fans this season culminating with a great weekend of tournament play and the crowning of the MVC Tournament champion," McKendree said.
