CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The University of Evansville women's soccer team fell, 2-0, at Austin Peay in its exhibition opener Wednesday night in Clarksville, Tenn., as the Lady Governors scored a pair of goals in the final 10 minutes to secure the victory.

In a match that remained scoreless for over 80 minutes, Austin Peay finally broke through with a goal in the 81st minute, when Tatiana Ariza finished an assist from Emily Kink to give the Lady Govs a 1-0 lead.

Just under six minutes later, Ariza found the back of the net for the second time, finishing a pair of passes from Joceline Quiceno and Mary Ruth Locastro.

APSU outshot Evansville, 13-5, with each side taking three corner kicks. Offensively, sophomore Abby Springer led the Aces with a pair of shots, while fellow sophomores Allie Arguello and Kayla Smith each put a shot on goal.

In goal, freshman Whitney Biggs made five saves in 90 minutes of action for UE. Nikki Filippone led Austin Peay with four stops in her 59:36 between the posts.

The Aces will wrap up their preseason schedule Sunday, Aug. 18, when they travel to Wright State for a 5 p.m. match in Dayton, Ohio.
