BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The University of Evansville women's soccer team won its fourth-straight match Sunday afternoon at Bowling Green, after sophomore
Kayla Smith scored just over a minute into overtime to give the Purple Aces a 2-1 victory over the Falcons at Cochrane Field in Bowling Green, Ohio.

Evansville (7-2-1) filled the stat sheet by outshooting Bowling Green (0-6-0), 29-8, and putting 13 shots on goal. In addition, the Aces attempted six corner kicks, while conceding just one.

The Aces controlled possession and put six shots on goal in the first half, but the Falcons led 1-0 after the halftime whistle, after Madeline Wideman scored her first goal of the season in the 13th minute.

Freshman
Bronwyn Boswell scored the equalizer in the 56th minute on an assist by Lauren Tiernan and UE continued to test BGSU goalkeeper Lauren Cadel, who finished the contest with 11 saves.

Junior
Tatiana Pagan nearly found the game-winner in the 86th minute, but her shot deflected off the crossbar and Evansville was unable to find the back of the net on a pair of late shots by sophomore
Allie Arguello and Boswell.

It didn't take long for the Aces to run their unbeaten streak to six games, as Smith recorded the game-winner on UE's first shot in the extra period in the 92nd minute for her team-leading fifth goal of the year.

Sophomore goalkeeper
Simone Busby made one save to earn the win in goal and Boswell, who led all players with seven shots, was one of three Evansville players to attempt five or more shots.

Wideman led Bowling Green with four shots and recorded one of only two shots on goal for the Falcons.

Evansville will be back home for its next match, as the Aces will open Missouri Valley Conference play Sunday, Sept. 29 at 1 p.m., when they host Drake at Arad McCutchan Stadium.
