ST. LOUIS – For the second-straight week, University of Evansville junior Taylor Brand was named the Missouri Valley Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for her efforts in the Purple Aces' shutout victory over UT Martin Friday night.
 
Brand and the Evansville defense limited the Skyhawks to just three shots on goal and held UTM to just three first-half shots, as UE posted its first shutout of the year.  On the season, the Aces' back line has allowed opponents to just eight shots on frame.
 
Evansville returns to the pitch Friday at 7 p.m., when it hosts IUPUI at Arad McCutchan Stadium.  The Aces will be wearing orange jerseys for the match to support the Tri-State Multiple Sclerosis Association's fight against MS.
