EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Evansville women's soccer team will continue its non-conference slate Wednesday night, when the Purple Aces travel to Cincinnati, Ohio for a 6 p.m. match with host Xavier at the XU Soccer Complex.
Evansville (2-1-0) enters Wednesday's contest having won its last two contests, defeating Tennessee Tech, 2-1, on Aug. 25, prior to downing UT Martin, 3-0, last Friday. Senior

Emily Griebel found the back of the net in both matches for the Aces, while sophomore
Kayla Smith added the third goal in the win over the Skyhawks.
Offensively, Thompson and Griebel are tied for the team lead with four points, and Smith, along with freshman
Bronwyn Boswell have each taken a team-high nine shots. In goal, sophomore
Simone Busby enters the midweek game with a 0.67 goals against average, .750 save percentage and six saves.
As a team, UE has outshot its opponents, 51-22, and has limited opposing teams to just eight shots on goal. Evansville has also posted a 14-8 corner kick advantage and has recorded one shutout on the season.
Xavier (2-0-0) opened its season at the Boilermaker Challenge Cup (Aug. 23-25) and won the event by defeating North Dakota, 3-0, and host Purdue, 4-3. Tori Doss led the Musketeers with three goals and an assist to earn Offensive MVP honors at the tournament and teammate Courtney Kobashigawa was named the Defensive MVP.
Goalkeepers Katie Markesbury and Rachel Piccus split time in net for XU, with Markesbury making 10 saves in the win over Purdue and Piccus collecting four saves in the shutout of North Dakota.
Xavier returns 19 letterwinners, including nine starters from last year's team that finished 6-12-1 overall and 1-8-0 in the Atlantic 10. Mariah Whitaker returns as the Musketeers' top offensive player, after leading the team with nine points on three goals and three assists last season. Markesbury returns as the team's top goalkeeper, as she posted a 6-11-1 record with four shutouts, 134 saves and a 1.60 goals against average in 2012.
Wednesday's matchup will mark the 14th meeting between the Aces and Musketeers, with XU holding a slim 6-5-2 advantage in the all-time series. The two sides played to a 1-1 tie last season in Evansville. UE last win over Xavier came in 2010, when the Aces earned a 2-0 victory.
