Aces Swimming & Diving Falls in Final Home Meet

Evansville falls to Miami Ohio in Dual Meet

Final Results

EVANSVILLE, Ind. –
The University of Evansville swimming & diving team came up just short in today's dual meet against the Miami of Ohio, which was held at Castle High School in Newburgh, IN. The Lady Aces fell by a score of 183 to 109 and the men's squad fell by a final of 171-112.
 
Although the Aces lost, there were plenty of results to be happy about. For the Lady Aces freshman Danielle Freeman once again had a very strong meet. She finished second in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.06, just .03 seconds off from first and first place in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 52.49.
 
Junior Michelle Tipton also continued her strong season by finishing first in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:08.09 and second in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:56.83.
 
For the men's squad, junior Ashton Bishop put on a show. Bishop finished first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 21.08 and second in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 47.59.
 
Freshman Andrew Cotton also had a strong day, finishing second in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:10.60.
 
For the diving team, senior Mallet Reid had a strong final home meet where he finished first in the men's 1-meter diving with a score of 284.93.
 
This was the Aces final home meet of the season. UE will swim again on Jan. 24 against St. Louis in St. Louis, Mo. at 5:30 p.m. That will be a dual meet.
