EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Evansville women's soccer team (9-4-3, 2-1-1) notched the 200th win in program history with a 2-0 victory over the Indiana State Sycamores on Wednesday evening.

Sophomore midfielder Bronwyn Boswell scored twice in the match and junior goalkeeper Simone Busby earned her 8th shutout of the season in the Aces victory.

The match was played throughout a steady rain, which didn't deter Evansville from taking 20 shots in the match.

Exactly three minutes in, sophomore midfielder Colleen Dierkes found Boswell on a bending pass from the top of the 18 yard box. Boswell took the pass and kicked it past goalkeeper Brittany San Roman for the 1-0 lead. The goal was the sixth for Boswell. The assist was the first this year for Dierkes.

Despite being outshot 6-5 in the opening half, Evansville held the 1-0 edge into halftime.

The teams continued to play through the rain in the second half when Boswell added to the Aces lead.

In the 60th minute, junior forward Kayla Smith sent a corner kick into the 18 yard box for Boswell, who blasted the ball past San Roman for her second goal of the match. The score was Boswell's seventh of the season and Smith's first assist.

Busby withstood 11 second half shots from the Sycamores, making six saves on the night in the Aces 2-0 win.

Smith led UE with six shots. Freshman midfielder/forward Montana Portenier also had four shots in the victory.

Evansville will host Northern Iowa in their next match on Saturday, October 25 at Arad McCutchan Stadium. The match will begin at 1:00 p.m.
