By clinching the #2 seed, Evansville will avoid the opening round set of MVC Tournament games on Sunday, November 2. The Aces will now play the winner of #3 Drake and #6 Loyola in Normal, Illinois on Friday, November 7 at 3:36 p.m.

On Thursday night, Evansville nearly went ahead of Loyola in the 14
th minute but a shot from sophomore midfielder
Bronwyn Boswell went wide.

The score stayed 0-0 until the final seconds of the first half. Off a UE corner kick in the 45
th minute, Loyola transitioned the opposite way and Evansville committed a foul. On the free kick from midfield, the ball was headed three times and into the net for Loyola with eight seconds remaining. The goal by Sammy Gage was her third of the season and pushed the Ramblers ahead 1-0.

Evansville came out of the halftime break looking to tie the match but couldn't quite find the equalizer. UE outshot Loyola 6-0 in the final 45 minutes but just missed on a few opportunities.

Olivia Shafer was saved by Loyola goalkeeper Monica Gonyo. Freshman forward
Nicki Baham then had a shot 11 seconds later that was saved by Loyola's team defense at the goalline.

Tatiana Pagan took a shot on goal but once again, Gonyo made the save.
