EVANSVILLE, Ind. - Summer collegiate baseball leagues are beginning to come to a close, but Boomer Synek has shown no signs of slowing down since beginning an offensive tear three weeks ago.  Synek (Mankato MoonDogs - Northwoods League) turned in a pair of three-hit games this week to raise his average to .321 on the summer and the Northbrook, Ill., native has also filled the stat sheet with 11 doubles, 11 RBI, 33 runs scored, 36 walks and 13 stolen bases.  Outfielder Kevin Kaczmarski (Waterloo Bucks - Northwoods League) drove in eight runs this week for the Bucks with four of them coming in a 3-for-3 effort that included a double and his second home run of the season on July 10 vs. Kalamazoo.

On the mound, Matt Rodgers (St. Cloud Rox - Northwoods League) struck out three and allowed just one hit over 2.0 scoreless innings of relief in his lone appearance this week to highlight current Purple Aces' pitching efforts.

In the professional ranks, Kyle Lloyd became the first Fort Wayne TinCap (Class A - San Diego) pitcher to strike out 13 or more in a game in over a decade, as the 6-foot-4 right-hander allowed just one run on five hits with 13 strikeouts over 6.0 innings to earn the victory over South Bend on July 12.  Lloyd is now 3-3 on the season with a 4.77 ERA and 87 strikeouts over his 71.2 innings of work.

Kyle Freeland made his second professional start for the Grand Junction Rockies (Rookie - Colorado) on July 14, allowing a run on four hits over 3.0 innings with a pair of strikeouts and Sam Johns allowed a run on two hits in 2.0 innings out of the bullpen for the Hagerstown Suns (Class A - Washington) on July 12.

Offensively, Kyle Pollock is hitting .286 with a home run and nine RBI in 15 games for the Idaho Falls Chukars (Rookie - Kansas City), while Eric Stamets has seen his average dip below the Mendoza line for the Arkansas Travelers (Double-A - Los Angeles Angels).  Stamets is hitting just .193 on the year with a homer and seven RBI in 63 games for the Travs.
