Women's Soccer to Host SEMO Wednesday Night

EVANSVILLE, Ind. –
The University of Evansville women's soccer team will be back home at Arad McCutchan Stadium Wednesday night, when it hosts Southeast Missouri State at 7 p.m.
 
After going 0-1-2 during its three-match road swing, Evansville (4-3-2) will be looking to get back in the win column on its home pitch, where it is 4-1-0 this season.  The Purple Aces earned a pair of scoreless ties at IUPUI and Valparaiso over the weekend.  UE combined for 30 shots in the two matches and were led by freshman Nicki Baham, who registered a team-high six attempts, putting one on goal.
 
Evansville is averaging 16.0 shots per game this season and has put 52 on frame for a .361 shot on goal percentage.  However, the Aces have managed to score just one goal in their last five outings, after scoring six in their first three contests.  UE has earned 49 corner kicks to its opponents 28, posting a 23-12 advantage in the first half.
 
Sophomore Bronwyn Boswell leads Evansville with six points on three goals and has attempted a team-high 22 shots.  Junior Holyn Mashall has tallied four points on a pair of goals and sophomore Noor Medlej has registered three points with a team-high three assists.  In goal, junior goalkeeper Simone Busby enters Wednesday's match with a 0.78 goals against average, 34 saves and a .829 save percentage to go with four solo shutouts.
 
Southeast Missouri State (2-2-0) dropped a 3-0 decision to Illinois State in its last outing, after splitting a pair of matches with UC Davis (W, 2-0) and Northern Colorado (L, 1-0) at the Falcon Invitational in Colorado.  The Redhawks were outshot, 16-4, in their matchup with Illinois State, as Jenna Collingridge tallied SEMO's lone shot on goal and goalkeeper Kindra Lierz collected six saves.
 
As a team, Southeast Missouri State has been outshot, 39-29, and is averaging just 7.2 shots per contest.  The Redhawks have put 13 shots on goal for a .448 shots on goal percentage and have earned 13 corner kicks, while conceding 13.
 
Torey Byrd and Natasha Minor are tied for the team lead with three points for SEMO, with each scoring a goal and registering an assist.  Breana Beine and Ashley Brendel are the only other Southeast Missouri State players to get on the score sheet this season, as both have scored one goal.  Between the posts, Lierz has allowed four goals in 360 minutes for a 1.00 goals against average and has tallied 18 saves with both of her wins coming via shutout.
 
SEMO leads the all-time series with Evansville, 3-2-3, and has shutout the Aces in the last two meetings.  The last meeting between the two sides ended in a scoreless tie during the 2012 season in Cape Girardeau, Mo.  In the last meeting at McCutchan Stadium, the Redhawks topped UE, 3-0, during the 2011 campaign.
