EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Freshman defender Olivia Shafer notched her first, second and third career goals as the University of Evansville women's soccer team (7-3-2) recorded a season-high seven goals in a 7-0 shutout victory over Tennessee Tech on Sunday afternoon at Arad McCutchan Stadium.

Freshman forward Nicki Baham also recorded two goals in the Aces victory.  Junior goalkeeper Simone Busby prevented the Golden Eagles from scoring any goals in the first half and sophomore Whitney Biggs didn't yield any goals in the second half to complete the shutout.
 
UE began the scoring with a 20^th minute goal from sophomore midfielder Bronwyn Boswell, her fourth of the season.  Ahead 1-0, Evansville added another goal later in the opening frame. In the 33^rd minute, Shafer scored the first of her three goals to push the Purple Aces up by a pair.  Shafer scored the first off of a corner kick from the far side.
 
UE took their 2-0 lead into the final half and amassed another five goals in the latter period.   Junior forward Abby Springer made it 3-0 with her goal in the 49^th minute.  Shafer then scored in the 54^th and 57^th minutes to complete the hat trick. Baham found the back of the net in the 71^st and 87^th minutes to end the scoring in the win 7-0.  The Purple Aces outshot the Golden Eagles 25-4 in the match.
 
Evansville will now look for their fourth consecutive victory on Sunday, September 28 when they visit the Drake Bulldogs at 1p.m.
