EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Evansville women's tennis team will be back in action this weekend when the team travels to Fort Wayne to take on IPFW on Friday and Oakland on Saturday. The Aces will then travel to Ball State for a Sunday showdown with the Cardinals.
The Aces started their season out strong last weekend with a 4-3 win over a visiting Austin Peay squad. Mina Milovic came through huge in flight six singles to secure the Aces victory.
The Aces took four out of the six matches at singles. Marketa Trousilova was defeated by Omella Di Salvo at flight one singles. Trousliova lost 6-2 and 6-3. Natasha James took the victory over Hannah Tatlock at flight two singles with a score of 6-2, 5-7, and 6-1. At flight three singles Andjela Bruljan was defeated by Vanessa Taveras 6-4 and 7-5. Morina Moreno won at flight four singles over Brittney Covington 6-2 and 6-2. Kennedy Craig pulled in yet another victory at flight five singles with a 6-4 and 6-0 victory over Isabela Jovanovic. To end the evening and secure the victory Mina Milovic was victorious at flight six singles with score of 6-7, 6-3, and 6-3.
IPFW will mark the first opponent of the weekend. The Mastodons have already had five spring matches in 2015. They sit at 3-2 with one of the victories coming over MVC member Illinois State. Oakland opened its season January 18
th with a loss to Michigan State. Last weekend they fell at Akron 6-1. UE wraps up the weekend at Ball State. The Cardinals are 2-1 in the young season with victories over Detroit and Youngstown State.
The Aces next home action will be on February 13
th when they take on Eastern Illinois.
