Good morning Aces Fans! Welcome back to third edition of the AcesTape blog!
Â
It has been a great week thus far for your Purple Aces Baseball Program. We have one full week of team practice under our belt and are continuing to strive forward in all aspects of the game, both on and off the field.
Â
In the weight room, this was our last week in which we lift three times a week as a team. Starting next week, it will narrow down to twice a week as the season begins a week from Friday.
Â
We have been grateful to have the weather that we have had these past couple of weeks. It is rare to get the amount of days that we have received in order to practice outside on the field. The weather has been holding up for us, consistently staying within the high 30's and mid 40's. We have definitely been taking advantage of it.
Â
On the field, the pitchers are getting their pitch counts up and close to triple digits. Our offensive unit has been fortunate enough to see live pitching to gather many reps at the dish.
Â
As a unit, we have been working on different plays for different scenarios. This includes bunt defense plays, first and third (runners on first and third) defense, as well as directing and knowing what base to throw to in other circumstances.
Â
We have definitely come a long way. It is evident that we are playing collectively and getting better as a unit. The season is right on us!
Â
In less than a week, we will be on the bus heading down to Little Rock, Arkansas in the beginning of our 2015 journey. Hopefully all of our fans are as happy and ready to go like we are!
Â
Dominate the weekend!
Â
Tune in again, next week!
