Third baseman Jonathan Ramon continues his season-long blog of the UE Baseball season, recapping the team's last week of games and the Aces' weekend series vs. #18 Dallas Baptist:Good morning Aces Fans! I hope you all know what day it is… IT IS CONFERENCE TIME!
Â
Leading up to today, we had a three game series at Ohio State last weekend and our home opener with a midweek contest against Murray State.
Â
Due to inclement weather on Friday in Columbus, Ohio, we played a single game on Saturday and yet, another double-header on Sunday. We picked up a big
10-9 win in Saturday's opener against a very competitive opponent.
On Sunday, we lost a nail-bitter to the Buckeyes in the first game and also fell in the second game.
Â
We learned at Ohio State that momentum plays a huge role in a baseball game. From this experience, we learned from our mistakes, attacked them in practice, and came out with a
win over Murray State in our home opener on Wednesday. We followed through with our game plan of playing well in all facets of the game to earn the win over the Racers.
Â
The home opening win was a great step in the right direction for us. This victory leads us into Missouri Valley Conference play this weekend against another, competitive and quality opponent in #18 Dallas Baptist.
SERIES PREVIEW HEREÂ
It is a big weekend for us! This series begins Valley play, and an important part of our schedule.
Â
As a unit, we are all ready and extremely excited to play against the Patriots. We are ready to compete at a very high level.
Â
We have great weather in the forecast, a ranked team in town, and baseball at the Braun! Hope everyone is able to follow, watch, and come out to Braun Stadium to support us!
Â
Go ACES!
