Evansville, IN – The University of Evansville Women's Tennis team (6-2, 0-0 MVC) will take their four game winning streak to Tennessee on Saturday to take on the UT Martin Skyhawks. The match was originally scheduled to take place outdoors at UT Martin but has been changed due to inclement weather. The match has been moved to Austin Peay University in Clarksville, TN. The match will take place at 12:00 pm CT at the Governor's Indoor Tennis Center.
The Aces are coming off an excellent weekend last weekend that featured victories over Southern Illinois Edwardsville by a score of 4-3 and Belmont by a score of 6-1. Natasha James leads the Aces with a record of 7-1 at flight two singles. James, who is the reigning Missouri Valley Athlete of the week for women's tennis, and the rest of the Aces look to continue their success against the Skyhawks.
UT Martin comes into the match with a record of 2-4. They have recorded victories this year over Arkansas State and Alabama-Huntsville. Sarah Candeloro leads the Skyhawks with a record of 4-2 at flight one singles. Candeloro and Jessica Silva also have a record of 3-3 at flight one doubles.
The Aces will head to Orlando, FL after the completion of the match against UT Martin. Evansville will start their week at 10:30 a.m. CT on March 10
th when they take on Bucknell. On March 11
th they will take on Quinnipiac at 11:00 a.m. CT. The Aces will wrap up their week on March 13
th when they face James Madison at 8:30 a.m. CT. The Aces next home match will be against Lipscomb on March 21
st. The Aces will face Lipscomb at Wesselman Park at 1:00 p.m. CT.
