Third baseman Jonathan Ramon continues his season-long blog of the UE Baseball season, recapping the team's last week of games and the Aces' upcoming weekend series vs. Southern Illinois:Good Afternoon Aces Fans! Hope everyone has had a great week and are looking forward to a weekend filled with baseball at Charles H. Braun Stadium!
Â
Rewinding back to last week, we welcomed Northern Kentucky and grinded throughout the game to come out on top for a 9-6 victory last Wednesday night. We continued the week by traveling to Peoria, Illinois to face a quality opponent in the Bradley Braves.
Â
Unfortunately, they took two out of three from us. Both losses were close, and competitive contests that just did not go our way. We took Friday and Saturday as learning experiences and came out on Sunday to defeat the Braves 10-0.
Â
Although we lost the series, we did not let it get us down. We battled on Sunday and knew we had a long week ahead of us. We had two midweek games where we welcomed Indiana and Oakland City to the Braun.
Â
Tuesday night was filled with a great atmosphere and great weather. We competed great as a unit and came out with the 8-4 victory over the Hoosiers. This completed a huge season series sweep for us against a great program.
Â
Following up Tuesday's contest, we welcomed Oakland City to Braun Stadium and did whatever it took in order to earn yet another win.
Â
Every game to us is an important game! We now welcome Southern Illinois to Evansville for our second-to-last Missouri Valley Conference series.
Â
We are determined and are prepared to compete at a high level and protect our home field this weekend.
Â
And the WEATHER! It is going to be fantastic outside, so the Aces and I will love to see as many people as possible at our games this weekend supporting us against the Salukis!
Â
Have a great weekend everyone!
Â
Go ACES!
