Aces Softball is Defeated by Bradley in Season Finale

Box Score

Evansville, IN –
The University of Evansville Softball Team (10-45, 2-24 MVC) wrapped up their season on Sunday afternoon when they hosted the series finale of their three game set against the  Bradley Braves.  Bradley was able to come out on top just as they had in games one and two on Saturday.  The final score was 10-2 in favor of the Braves and marked Aces seniors Mariah Ferguson's and Abbi Fahse's final collegiate contest.

Bradley was able to get a 1-0 lead in the top of the second when they scored off of an error.  Evansville responded in the bottom half of the inning when Hayli Scott scored off a hit by Mariah Ferguson.  The Aces got another run on a sacrifice fly by Morgan Lambert scoring Ferguson and giving the Aces a 2-1 lead.

The Braves then got a single in the top of the third, which scored a run and tied the game up for the Braves.  The Braves then took a 3-2 lead in the top of the third when they reached off an error scoring another run.  Bradley then added another run in the top of the third off a passed ball making the 4-2 in favor of the Braves.

The game stayed quite for two innings but after five straight base hits in the top of the sixth, the Braves added four more runs to make their lead 8-2.  Bradley added two more runs in the top of the seventh to finish off the Aces by a final score of 10-2.

Ferguson finished her final game going 1-3 at the plate for the Aces while scoring one of her teams two runs.

The Aces, with a 2-24 conference record will not be eligible to participate in the conference tournament, which means that today's loss against Bradley will conclude their 2015 campaign.
