Third baseman Jonathan Ramon continues his season-long blog of the UE Baseball season, recapping the team's last week of games and the Aces' upcoming weekend series at Wichita State:Good Morning Aces Fans! Hope everyone has had a great week and have been enjoying the beautiful weather that has been coming along our way! We are closing in to the end of the regular season and are excited to finish the season off strong!
Â
Dating back to last week, it was a successful series for the Aces! We took two out of three games against Southern Illinois at home. We were victorious in the first two games of the series, then lost 5-4 in a hard fought contest on Sunday afternoon at Braun Stadium.
Â
It was a great weekend filled with good baseball and wonderful weather. Many fans were able to come out to the Braun and watch three one-run ballgames! Exhilarating!
Â
Although we lost the chance to sweep the Salukis, we continued to keep this momentum rolling into our midweek contest against UT-Martin.
Â
We came out strong in the final game of the six game homestand. We used a complete team effort to achieve the 19-2 victory. We received great performances top to bottom and it was a great thing to see.
Â
This weekend rounds out our Missouri Valley Conference schedule as we are in Wichita, Kan. for the weekend facing the Shockers. Wichita State is and has always been a tough opponent. They always come out with intensity and compete.
Â
We are prepared to continue to take steps in the right direction and continue playing quality baseball. We are determined to compete at a high level and continue to pull for each other in every aspect of the game.
Â
It is, indeed, a very long drive but I have no doubt that I will see Aces fans in the stands cheering on. If you can't make the trip, be sure to listen in on the radio.
Â
As a team, we greatly appreciate your support! Hope everyone has a great, fun-filled, and safe weekend while following the Aces play!
Â
Go ACES!
-Jonathan
