WINTER HAVEN Fla. – The third match in the last two days saw the University of Evansville women's tennis team earn a 6-1 victory over Aquinas in Winter Haven, Florida.
 
"This was a solid win from top to bottom. Aquinas is a solid NAIA team that is very strong at the top of their lineup. To get a win in our 2nd match of the day with our #1 & #2 singles players suffering from illness and injury is a good step for our team as we are preparing for the start of the Valley Conference season in less than a month," Aces head coach Jayson Wiseman said.
 
"Doreen and Kennedy both put together impressive 3-match win streaks in singles which will only help to build their confidence going forward.  Marina and Angela won both their completed matches at #3 doubles and will be a tough team to deal with in the next month and a half.  Overall I'm very pleased with the effort we put in the last few days and I'm very proud of how we handled some adversity and difficult situations and still managed to put wins on the scoreboard and go 3-0 in Florida," Wiseman continued.
 
Evansville picked up the singles point to begin the day.  In the second flight, Kennedy Craig and Katie Delgado earned an 8-2 win while Marina Moreno and Andjela Brguljan picked up an 8-0 win at #3 doubles to give UE the point.
 
In singles action, the Purple Aces earned wins in flights two through six to finish off the 6-1 win.  Delgado earned the win in #2 singles, 6-1, 6-1.  Crasta played in the third flight, also winning by finals of 6-1 and 6-1.
 
Brguljan took the win in the fourth group, 6-0, 6-1 while Craig was victorious in the fifth flight, 6-1, 6-0.  Leah Helpingstine rounded out the wins for the Aces, winning in two sets in the sixth flight, 6-2, 6-3.
