Box Score SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - In a midweek Missouri Valley Conference matchup, the University of Evansville women's soccer team fell to Missouri State, 1-0, on the road in Springfield, Mo. on Wednesday evening.

The match began with the Purple Aces attack seeing early success as Evansville put a shot on-goal via junior Mikayla Harvey, whose shot was saved by the Bears in the second minute. Missouri State responded with four shots of their own before the 20 minute mark, including sixth minute and 16th minute shots that were saved by Evansville sophomore Michaela Till. In the 28th minute, UE strung together a few opportunities as the Aces earned three corner kicks and tallied a shot that was blocked in a three minute span. The closing 15 minutes of the first half included two more shots on-goal from Missouri State, but Till again made the saves as the Aces and Bears went to halftime in a scoreless tie.

Beginning the second quarter, Harvey again had a shot opportunity, but saw her attempt go wide in the 57th minute. 50 seconds later, the Bears responded with their own goal as Brooke Prondzinski found the back of the net inside the box off an assist from Jordan Eickelman. Following their goal, the Bears continued to keep possession and generate chances as Missouri State had six shots between the 57th and 83rd minutes. Evansville manufactured an opportunity in the 84th minute as senior Montana Portenier had a shot that was saved by Missouri State. In the final minutes, the Bears put a shot on target, but had it saved, as the clock ticked away and Evansville fell to MSU, 1-0.

Harvey led the way for Evansville, notching two shots with one shot on-goal in the match. Between the posts, Till made nine saves, allowing one goal, in the Aces loss to Missouri State.

The Aces are back in action at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday afternoon when UE faces Loyola on Senior Day at Arad McCutchan Stadium.
