NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The University of Evansville baseball team are back on the road, as they complete the non-conference portion of their 2018 non-conference campaign, when they travel down the Nashville to take on Belmont University Tuesday night.

The Purple Aces (10-35) are coming off weekend in Terre Haute where they earned their first true road win as well as their second Missouri Valley Conference victory of the season at the expense of Indiana State. The Bruins (17-34) avoided a road sweep at the hands of Southeast Missouri over the weekend, as they downed the Redhawks in the series finale, 10-6 in extra innings.Â
UE battered Belmont, 9-1, in their earlier match-up two weeks ago at Braun Stadium.
Evansville Head Coach Wes Carroll will send out senior right hand pitcher Jimmy Ward (1-1, 5.56 ERA) to start the game. It will be just the second start of the season for the long time reliever. Belmont will start with sophomore left hander Jack Rettig (2-1, 8.72 ERA) on the hill.
First pitch from Belmont's E.S. Rose Park is at 5 p.m. Central Time.
