Beilsmith, who managed a lone double in his first campaign with the Purple Aces last year, became one of the most dangerous hitters in the MVC, finishing eighth in the league in batting with a .339 average, fifth in slugging percentage with a .579 mark, and third in double with 18. The Weldon Spring, Missouri native also finished second on the team in hits with 58 and RBIs with 28.
"It's great to see Troy get rewarded for an outstanding season," said University of Evansville Head Coach Wes Carroll. "He is a hard worker that plays the game the right way."
Beilsmith and the Aces will look to do some damage in the Missouri Valley Conference Championship tournament Wednesday, where they'll face top seeded and regular season champion Missouri State in their postseason opener at 12:30 pm at Horner Ballpark on the campus of Dallas Baptist University.
