EVANSVILLE, Ind. - After another strong outing at the UAH Chargers Open, sophomore Anna Lowry was named Missouri Valley Conference Runner of the Week, it was announced in a release by the conference office on Tuesday.
At the UAH Chargers Open on Saturday morning, Lowry helped power the Purple Aces to the team victory, earning herself a second-place finish in the open. After setting a PR of 18:41.9 a week ago at the Walt Crawford Open, Lowry improved upon her PR with a time of 18:36.09, a 23-second improvement over her best time in 2017. For the Aces, the team win is the first for UE since the Aces captured the win at the UE Invitational on October 18, 2014. The honor is the first for Lowry in her collegiate career and the first for Evansville since Sienna Crews was named MVC Female Athlete of the Week on September 29, 2015.
Evansville takes a weekend away from competition before heading back to action on September 22 at the Austin Peay Invitational in Clarksville, Tenn..
