MVC Release

EVANSVILLE, Ind. - After recording her second shutout of the season, University of Evansville women's soccer sophomore goalkeeper Michaela Till was named Missouri Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Week, it was announced in a release by the conference office on Monday.

In the Purple Aces' 1-0 overtime victory over Indiana State on Saturday afternoon, Till made five saves, spending all 92:54 in goal for Evansville, keeping the Sycamores off the scoreboard. The clean sheet was Till's second of the season and third shutout of her career. On the season, Till has collected 54 saves, bringing her total to 109 in her career, placing her in 10th all-time in career saves in program history.

Till's player of the week honor is the first by an Aces since Samantha Brown earned defensive player of the week recognition on September 27, 2016. The last Aces goalkeeper to earn MVC Defensive Player of the Week honors was Simone Busby who received the honor on September 23, 2014. Evansville's win moves the Aces to 3-7-1 on the season and 1-0 in MVC action heading into Saturday's match with Valparaiso at Arad McCutchan Stadium.
