Purple Aces Head North to take on UNI

EVANSVILLE, Ind. -- The University of Evansville women's soccer team heads on the final road trip of the regular season to Northern Iowa to take on the Panthers on Saturday at 1 p.m. on ESPN+.

  • Michaela Till has recorded 72 saves through 13 matches, keeping her on pace on the career saves list, her 236 saves currently ranks 4th in program history, just 28 off ranking number three (264). 
  • Evansville as a team leads the MVC in saves (85), while Till herself ranks first in the MVC in total saves (72) and saves per game (5.54).
  • Five of the Aces eight goals this season have been scored by underclassmen. Emily Ormson, Emily Wolak and Sophia Rodil have scored 62 percent of UE's goal this season. 
  • UE had a streak of 10 attempted shots in six matches, the Aces have not attempted double digit shots in six straight matches since 2014.
  • The Purple Aces picked up a point against Missouri State with a 1-1 double overtime draw on Wednesday at McCutchan Stadium. Sophia Rodil recorded her first career goal five minutes into the match. 
  • UE started conference play off with a scoreless draw with Indiana State (9/28). The Purple Aces are on a six game undefeated streak against Indiana State after the draw Saturday night. 
  • The Purple Aces picked up the first win of the season over Tennessee Tech, 2-0 (Sept. 13). UE had goals from Maggie Leazer and Emily Wolak, both in the first half. 
  • Purple Aces leading shot taker (24), Emily Ormson has found the back of the net twice it this season, first in the 20th minute against SEMO, before opening up the scoring against Belmont. 
  • The Aces finished the 2018 season with a 1-0 loss against No. 2 Drake in double- overtime in the semifinals of the MVC Championships.
  • The Purple Aces return 85 percent of their scoring from 2018, including Emily Ormson and Maggie Leazer who led the team in goal scoring a year ago.
  • A familiar face will be back on the sidelines as Chris Pfau was named assistant coach on May 15. Pfau returns to Evansville after serving as the Purple Aces head coach from 2005-07.
  • The Purple Aces were picked sixth in the MVC preseason poll, voted on by the coaches.
