EVANSVILLE, Ind. -Â The University of Evansville women's soccer team earned the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award, announced in a release by the organization.
This season's honor marks the 13th-straight season in which the Purple Aces have received the team academic award. The Aces finished the 2018-19 academic year with a 3.48 team GPA, all eight Missouri Valley Conference women's teams earned the honor.Â
United Soccer Coaches annually celebrates the academic achievements of high school and college soccer teams whose student-athletes collectively demonstrate a commitment to excellence in their studies over the course of a full academic year. College Team Academic Award recipients are active members of the United Soccer Coaches College Services Program with a composite grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale for all players on the roster.Â
A total of 991 soccer teams (345 men, 646 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2018-19 academic year.
The Aces next head to Normal, Ill. for a contest with Illinois State at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
