Women's Soccer Enters Post Season At Missouri State

EVANSVILLE, Ind. -- The University of Evansville women's soccer team takes on Missouri State in the first round of the Missouri Valley Conference championship, Sunday in Springfield, Mo.

  • The Purple Aces qualified for the Missouri Valley Conference first round with five points in league play. No. 6 Evansville will take on No. 3 Missouri State in a Sunday afternoon match up in Springfield, Mo.
  • UE holds a 4-0-3 all time record in MVC First Round match ups with all three ties resulting with the Aces advancing to the next round in PKs each time. UE holds a 20-12- 6 overall record in MVC post season matches. 
  • Michaela Till has recorded 85 saves through 15 matches, keeping her on pace on the career saves list, her 249 saves currently ranks 4th in program history, just 15 off ranking number three (264). 
  • Evansville as a team leads the MVC in saves (98), while Till herself ranks first in the MVC in total saves (85) and saves per game (5.67).
  • Six of the Aces nine goals this season have been scored by underclassmen. Emily Ormson, Emily Wolak, Sophia Rodil and Amanda DaSilva have scored 66 percent of UE's goals this season. 
  • UE held a streak of 10 attempted shots in six matches, the Aces have not attempted double digit shots in six straight matches since 2014.
  • Evansville earned a win over UNI on Saturday, 1-0, with Amanda DaSilva scoring her first career goal in the 83rd minute, also marking the Aces first MVC win this season. 
  • Last time against Missouri State the Aces earned with a 1-1 double overtime draw on at McCutchan Stadium. Sophia Rodil recorded her first career goal five minutes into the match. 
  • UE started conference play off with a scoreless draw with Indiana State (9/28). The Purple Aces are on a six game undefeated streak against Indiana State after the draw Saturday night. 
  • The Purple Aces picked up the first win of the season over Tennessee Tech, 2-0 (Sept. 13). UE had goals from Maggie Leazer and Emily Wolak, both in the first half. 
  • Purple Aces leading shot taker (26), Emily Ormson has found the back of the net twice it this season, first in the 20th minute against SEMO, before opening up the scoring against Belmont. 
  • A familiar face will be back on the sidelines as Chris Pfau was named assistant coach on May 15. Pfau returns to Evansville after serving as the Purple Aces head coach from 2005-07.
