EVANSVILLE, Ind. – A trip to Tennessee over Spring Break highlights the next week of action for the University of Evansville softball team as they prepare to start Missouri Valley Conference play next week.
UE heads to Johnson City, Tenn. for the Buccaneer Classic where they will take on Tennessee Tech, Rutgers, Siena and ETSU between Friday and Monday. Following an off day, Evansville faces Tennessee Tech on their home field in Cookeville on Wednesday.

Last weekend, the Aces played in the Samford Tournament in Birmingham, Ala. UE finished the weekend with a 4-3 win over the host Bulldogs.
Katie McLean hit an unbelievable .714 with an on-base percentage of .778 as the Aces played in the Samford Tournament over the weekend. She had five hits in seven at-bats with three of her hits being doubles. She scored three times and drew two walks while slugging 1.143. McLean was a perfect 3-3 in stolen base attempts. After an 0-1 game against WKU on Friday, McLean went 2-3 with a run against Houston Baptist. Her top game was a 3-3 performance in Saturday's win over Samford as she was 3-3 with a walk and a pair of runs scored.
Senior Emily Lockhart pitched seven innings without allowing an earned run while picking up a win over Samford. In three innings of work against Western Kentucky, Lockhart did not allow an earned run and struck out three. She picked up the win on Saturday against the Bulldogs, pitching four scoreless innings of relief. Lockhart gave up just two hits and struck out four.
Tennessee Tech is the first opponent of the weekend and enter the weekend with an 8-5 mark. They are winners of five in a row with two wins apiece over North Alabama and Western Illinois along with a triumph over Alabama State. Rutgers is 10-9 and picked up three wins in last week's Liberty Softball Classic. The Scarlet Knights defeated Robert Morris in two games and Quinnipiac.
Siena stands at 3-7 with wins over North Florida, Cornell and Presbyterian while host East Tennessee State is 10-7-2. They have dropped three in a row after wins over Marist and Portland State last week.
