OLD HICKORY, Tenn. - Playing 36 holes on the first day, the University of Evansville men's golf team finished with a pair of sub-300 rounds on Monday in the Big Blue Intercollegiate at Hermitage Golf Club in Old Hickory, Tenn.
The Aces recorded a total of 581 (285-296) in the first two rounds of the tournament as Evansville sits in a tie for seventh. Tennessee Tech leads the tournament following the first day with a five-under 563.
Pacing Evansville on the first day was Spencer Wagner, who carded a 71 and 72 in the opening two rounds. Wagner's one-over to start the tournament places Wagner in a tie for 15th.
Two strokes back of Wagner is senior Noah Reese with a total of 145 (71-74), earning Reese a share of 28th. Separated by just one stroke are Matthew Ladd and Dallas Koth, who shot a 146 and 147 in the first two rounds, placing Ladd in a tie for 32nd and Koth in a tie for 40th.

Competing as individuals, Robert Waggoner and Gabe Rohleder concluded the opening day just two strokes apart. Waggoner tallied a 151 (72-79) and Rohleder carded a 153 (75-78) to place them in a tie for 53rd and 63rd, respectively.
Marking identical 77s in the first two rounds, Jessie Brumley finished with a total of 154 in a tie for 71st.
Evansville closes out the intercollegiate on Tuesday at 8 a.m. with the tournament's final round at Hermitage Golf Club in Old Hickory, Tenn.
