EVANSVILLE, Ind. – University of Evansville Assistant Director of Media Relations Emily McMillan saw two of her digital publications and graphics recognized by COSIDA as the organization announced its 2019-20 award winners on Thursday during its virtual convention.
Â
McMillan's design of the men's soccer, women's soccer and volleyball digital posters from the fall of 2019 was named the "Best in the Nation". The recognition was for the entire fall series that she designed for the three sports.Â
Â
Her design featuring Purple Aces baseball player David Ellis was named the second-best in the nation in the Infographic Athlete/Award Feature category. All of the photos in both projects were taken by UE alum and professional photographer Trevor Ruszkowski.
Â
Since joining the UE staff in the summer of 2019, McMillan has been the primary graphic designer for the department while directing most of the social media content on UE's primary athletic account and its individual sports accounts. She works with the entire Aces external athletic staff to promote its sports on social media and in other mediums.
Â
She has worked to give the athletic department a uniform brand across all communications platforms. Outside of her creative work, she has handled media relations efforts for the Aces women's soccer, cross country/track and field, swimming and diving and men's and women's golf programs.
