Full MVC Release | 2019-20 MVC Academic Honors List

ST. LOUIS - University of Evansville student-athletes once again excelled in the classroom as 209 student-athletes were named to the Missouri Valley Conference's academic honor roll, it was announced on Wednesday in a release from the conference office.

Of the 209 student-athletes to earn a place on the conference honor roll, 57 earned the commissioner's academic excellence award and six received the presidents council academic award.

The six recipients of the presidents council academic award, the conference's most prestigious academic honor, were Philip Dzienciol (Men's Cross Country and Track and Field), Mikayla Harvey (Women's Soccer), Maggie Leazer (Women's Soccer), Emma Hennessy (Women's Swimming and Diving), Alyssa Vonder Haar (Women's Swimming and Diving), and Sarah Poltrack (Women's Cross Country and Track and Field).

The Presidents' Council Academic Excellence Award requires a minimum 3.8 cumulative grade point average, participation in athletics a minimum of two years, and the student-athlete must be within 18 hours of graduation (by the end of the Spring 2020 semester).  

880 student-athletes in total received the league's Commissioner's Academic Excellence Award, which requires a minimum grade point average of 3.5 for each of the previous two semesters, a minimum 3.2 cumulative grade point average, and participation in athletics a minimum of two years.  

To qualify for the Valley Honor Roll, a student-athlete must have recorded a minimum 3.2 grade point average for a specified term (Fall 2019/Spring 2020), must have been a member of an athletics team, and must have been enrolled full time during the term they earned the honor.
