EVANSVILLE, Ind. – On Sunday and Monday, the University of Evansville volleyball team heads to Springfield, Mo. for a pair of matches at Missouri State.  Sunday's opener is set for a 12 p.m. start with Monday's contest starting at 5 p.m....both contests can be seen live on ESPN+.

Last Time Out
- In the finale against Bradley, the turning point came in the opening set...with UE up by a 24-18 tally, the Braves scored six in a row before taking a 27-25 win
- The Purple Aces were unable to overcome the deficit with Bradley finishing with a 3-0 win
- Melanie Feliciano recorded 18 kills and 17 digs while Alondra Vazquez added 9 kills and 21 digs
 
Stepping Up
- Alondra Vazquez had her top performance of the season in the opener against the Braves, registering a season-high 24 kills over the course of a career-high 69 attempts
- Vazquez averaged 4.71 kills in the series and is second in the MVC with 3.90/set...she is just 0.01 kills off of the conference lead
- The junior currently has an average of 12.97 attacks per set, which leads the Valley and is 6th in the NCAA
- Along with the offense, her defense has picked up - she posted 5.86 digs per game in the Bradley series and ranks 17th in the MVC
 
Heating Up
- While Melanie Feliciano has ranked inside the top ten in the MVC with her kill totals in the opening weeks of 2021, she has found her groove as the season has moved along and is coming off of her best weekend of the season
- Against Bradley, Feliciano averaged 5.29 kills per game while setting her season high with 19 in the opener...her season average jumped to 3.51, which is now 6th in the MVC
- She has recorded 10 or more kills in nine out of 10 matches and has notched 15+ in three straight outings
- Defensively, Feliciano has chipped in 3.36 digs per set (14th in the MVC) and had a season-high of 20 in the second tilt at Loyola...that was just one off of her career high of 21
