EVANSVILLE - Following an eight-game home stand, the University of Evansville baseball team returns to the road for a four-game MVC set against Valparaiso, beginning on Friday, in Valparaiso, Ind.
Previewing the Matchup: Valparaiso
- The Aces and Valpo are meeting for the 60th time in the all-time series when the two meet in the series opener on Friday afternoon.
- Valpo owns a 38-21 advantage in the all-time series, but Evansville won the last series between the two, 2-1, during the last weekend of April, 2019.
- Evansville enters the weekend having taken at least a game in each of its series this season
- The Aces most recently captured a split of a four-game non-conference series with SIU last weekend, capping-off the set with a 6-5 win over the Salukis.
Hanging with the Best
- The Missouri Valley Conference has been one of the best Conference's in college baseball from top to bottom this season.
- The Valley is one of five conferences to have all of its institutions ranked inside the top 175 of the RPI.
- In the MVC, the highesrt ranked team in RPI is Indiana State, who sits 19th, and visits Evansville next weekend.
Craig Showcases His Power
- Junior Tanner Craig has showcased his power over the last eighth games, recording four home runs during that span.
- Craig hit three home runs in the SIU series alone, including two homers in the series-opener on Friday afternoon.
- Craig sits sixth all-time at Evansville with 27 home runs, 13 back of the all-time program record.
