Previewing the Matchup: Indiana State

• The Aces and Sycamores revive a rivalry that has been contested 173 times.
• Indiana State owns a 108-65 edge in the all-time series history between the two.
• In recent terms, the Sycamores have won the last three meetings in the series, capturing a 7-0 win in the opening game of the 2019 MVC Championship and winning the last two of the regular season series in 2019.
• Both teams enter with plenty at stake with Indiana State able to finish anywhere from the two seed to the four seed and the Aces able to slot in anywhere from the three seed to the eight seed.
• The Sycamores are slightly reeling entering the weekend, having dropped a four-game series to Southern Illinois last weekend.
• Evansville won its first series since April 9-11 with a 3-1 weekend victory over Valpo last weekend.

Using the Long Ball

• In the month of May, Evansville has relied on the long ball to generate its offense.
• So far, the Aces have hit 13 homers during the month of May, the most they have hit in any month this season.
• On a per game basis, Evansville is averaging 1.2 home runs per game in May, compared to 0.8 in April, 0.6 in March, and 0.6 in February.

Man of the Month

• Redshirt freshman pitcher Shane Harris has shifted into another gear in the month of May.
• Harris' season ERA of 7.82 is sure not to raise any eyebrows, but as a player battling back from injury, the more recent numbers better reveal the quality of the newcomer.
• During the month of May, Harris holds a team-best 1.29 ERA in seven innings pitched, striking-out four batters and holding opponents to just a .167 batting average.
• Harris has also earned his first collegiate win this month with a 4-3 win over MVC regular season champion DBU on May 1.
