EVANSVILLE - Following two and a half weeks of training and a pair of exhibition contests, the University of Evansville women's soccer team begins its regular season against Bellarmine on Thursday evening at 5 PM (CT) in Louisville, Ky.

Previewing the Matchup
- The Aces open the 2021 season against Bellarmine on Thursday, marking the first regular season meeting between the two sides.
- Evansville is in search of its first win in a regular-season opener since a 3-0 win over Austin Peay on Aug. 22, 2014.
- In a season that was pushed to the spring due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Evansville finished with a 2-3-3 overall record and showed a great improvement on the defensive end. The Aces concluded last season inside the top three in the nation in both save percentage (.936) and goals-against average (0.342).
Hill earns Preseason Honors
- Junior Emilie Hill was named to the MVC's Preseason First Team on Tuesday.
- An honorable mention selection in the spring, Hill recorded most of her time as a center back for the Purple Aces, while also finding the back of the net against Loyola to help earn her first career goal and the win over the Ramblers.
- Hill also played in all eight games, playing all but 10 minutes this season.
Preseason Action
- The Aces played a pair of matches in the preseason to prepare for the 2021 campaign.
- Evansville's opener against Murray State was cancelled after 33 minutes due to inclement weather. Against SLU on Aug. 14, the Aces battled, falling 1-0, to the A-10 favorites.
