EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Missouri Valley Conference action continues for the University of Evansville men's basketball team with a road trip to Missouri State on Saturday evening for a 7 p.m. tip. ESPN+ and the Purple Aces Radio Network will have the coverage.

- Noah Frederking has 954 points in his UE career and is set to become the 51st member of the programs 1,000-point club
- The last player to reach 1,000 was K.J. Riley, who did so in 2019 and finished with 1,062 in his career
Last Time Out
- Trailing by as many as 15 points in the second half on Wednesday against UNI, the Purple Aces rallied to get within three in the final minutes before late free throws sealed a 64-59 win for the Panthers
- Evan Kuhlman and Blaise Beauchamp led the way with 13 points apiece...Kuhlman was 5-for-9 from the field and 3-of-5 from outside while Beauchamp hit 5 of his 7 attempts and 3 out of 4 from outside
- Jawaun Newton had 12 points while leading the team with 7 rebounds and 4 assists
- The turning point came in the final minutes of the first half and the opening sequence of the second...with 3:28 remaining in the opening period and the game tied at 25-25, the Panthers finished on a 10-2 run to take a 35-27 halftime lead
- UNI hit their opening 7 field goal attempts in the final 20 minutes while extending the lead to 15 points (47-32)
Taking Care of Business
- In the home game against Northern Iowa, Jawaun Newton finished with 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and continues to lead the team with 5.8 rebounds/game while sitting second with 13.5 points/game
- The senior is 9th in the MVC with his rebounding mark and 13th in scoring
- While his season shooting stands at 42.5%, he looks to reverse a recent trend that has seen him shoot 32.3% (20/62) over the last five games
- Since opening the season with 5 points at Cincinnati, Newton has averaged 14.0 points with his career game coming against Rice where he scored 30 points on a 12-of-25 shooting effort
Finishing Strong
- Evan Kuhlman entered the Jan. 23 game against Illinois State averaging 5.9 PPG while reaching double figures in one of the prior 9 games
- In the two games since, Kuhlman has averaged 12.5 points per game while improving his season mark to 6.6
- The fifth year forward scored 12 in the win over Illinois State before registering 13 against Northern Iowa
- He is 5-for-8 from outside in the last two games
Beauchamp Strikes Again
- Blaise Beauchamp set his career scoring high with 14 points in the road game at Northern Iowa and enjoyed another solid outing at home versus the Panthers, scoring 13 points on 5-of-7 shooting and a 3-4 showing from outside
- In two games against UNI, he averaged 13.5 PPG while hitting 10 out of 19 field goal tries and 7 out of 14 3-pointers
- Beauchamp made his first career start in Cedar Falls, which is close to his home town of Minnetonka, Minnesota and finished the contest with a career-high 14 points while playing his top total of 28:45
- Throughout his first season in Evansville, Beauchamp has reached double figures six times and is averaging 6.2 PPG on the season
Scouting the Opponent
- Missouri State enters the first meeting of the season against the Aces with a 15-7 mark while sitting at 6-3 at the midway point of the conference slate
- On Tuesday, the Bears fell at Indiana State by a final score of 76-72, halting a 4-game win streak
- On Jan. 22, MSU dealt #22 Loyola a 79-69 home loss
- Reigning National Player of the Week (USBWA, CollegeInsider, ESPN and NCAA) Isiaih Mosley has scored 20 or more points in six consecutive games
- Mosley has been named the MVC Player of the Week three times in a row and ranks 8th nationally with 21.3 PPG
- Gaige Prim leads the MVC with 8 double-doubles while recording 8.0 rebounds per game
