PEORIA, Ill. – Alondra Vazquez put forth a stellar outing, hitting .429 with 22 kills, but it was Bradley finishing Friday's match with a 3-1 victory over the University of Evansville volleyball team at Renaissance Coliseum.

Vazquez' effort pushed her career kills tally to 1,685 and is just 21 shy of tying and 22 away from breaking the all-time Purple Aces program record. Giulia Cardona registered 11 kills. Kora Ruff led the Aces with 39 assists 17 digs with Cardona totaling 14 digs. Madisyn Steele finished the evening with two solo blocks and three block assists.

Set 1 – BU 25, UE 23
It was the Braves who came out on fire, scoring the opening four points of the contest. Hannah Watkins picked up a kill to help the Aces make it a 5-4 BU lead and they would add to their lead, going up 11-8. Evansville's first big run of the game followed as the next five tallies belonged to the Aces.

Following a kill from Vazquez, Blakeley Freeman registered consecutive service aces. Vazquez picked up another kill in the run before Freeman finished things off with her third ace of the set to put UE in front for the first time at 13-11. UE continued to hold the advantage at 21-19, but Bradley used a late 4-0 run to retake the lead before clinching the set, 25-23.

Set 2 – UE 25, BU 15
After coming up just short in game one, Evansville reeled off the first four points of the second set with Cardona picking up back-to-back kills to push the lead to 9-2. The Aces continued to add to the advantage with a Vazquez kill making it a 16-6 game. UE never let the Braves find their rhythm and it was Vazquez picking up the clinching kill in a 25-15 triumph.

Set 3 – BU 25, UE 18
Early runs proved to be a factor in the match and the Braves used a 3-0 start to push their way to a win in game three. Following their run to open things up, Bradley extended their edge to five points at 11-6. Another kill by Vazquez cut the deficit to 15-12 before the Braves countered with three in a row and would extend the lead to take a 2-1 match lead on the strength of a 25-18 decision.

Set 4 – BU 25, UE 20
The opening points of the fourth set belonged to the Aces with Vazquez adding another kill to her total. After Evansville made it a 5-2 game, Bradley turned the tables, scoring the next six points to take their first lead of the set at 8-5. Things continued to go Bradley's way as a UE error pushed their advantage to 13-7.

Evansville made its way right back into the contest with Emilee Scheumann earning a kill that would be the start of a 5-0 run that cut the gap to just a point. The Braves took a time out to regroup and responded with a 4-0 run. UE was unable to overcome the deficit with the Braves clinching the match with a 25-20 victory.

On Saturday, the Aces will be in Normal, Ill. for a 7 p.m. match at Illinois State.
