EVANSVILLE, Ind. –University of Evansville head women's soccer coach Chris Pfau added another piece to his 2022 recruiting class on Wednesday, as he announced the signing of Metamora, Ohio native Paige Radel (Evergreen HS) to a letter of intent. Radel becomes the eighth member of Pfau's 2022 recruiting class.
Radel earned first-team all-Ohio honors as a senior at Evergreen High School in northwest Ohio. She also earned second team all-Ohio honors as a junior, and was a two-time first team all-district selection, as well as being named all-conference and all-county four times each. Radel lettered four years in soccer and two in basketball for Evergreen High School. She also helped her club team, Pacesetter 04, to two Ohio state titles.
"I am excited to add Paige to our program," said Pfau. "She is a very talented forward that can do a lot of different things for our team: she can hold the ball, she can get in behind teams, and she can run at you. She will be very hard to defend.
"Paige is also a tremendous person who comes from a great family, and she will represent not only our team, but UE, very well going forward."
Radel joins a recruiting class which also includes Chrysta Vasquez (Henderson, Nev./Coronado HS) and Isabel Valdez (Phoenix, Ariz./Desert Vista HS) from the Southwest, Texas native Kathryn Tyler (Lantana, Texas/Liberty Christian HS), Floridian Joelle Haines (Jacksonville, Fla./IMG Academy), and Indiana natives Amy Velazquez (Avon, Ind./Avon HS), Kaylee Woosley (Evansville, Ind./North) and Ella McAndrew (Greendale, Ind./Lawrenceburg HS). Evansville is coming off of a season in which the Purple Aces began with the best start in program history, ranked as high as #5 in the United Soccer Coaches Midwest Region poll, and earned a spot in the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament finals.
