EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Evansville women's soccer team has added five players to its 2025 roster on National Signing Day.
The Purple Aces welcome two midfielders, two wingers, and a goalkeeper to its 2025 class. "This is another exceptional class of student-athletes," says Head Coach Chris Pfau. "All these players share a common objective of continuing to elevate UE soccer to new heights. Notably, all four field players possess the versatility to play in any position on the field and hail from highly esteemed club teams. Emma Nathans, in particular, comes from a club background that has consistently provided exceptional training at a high level.
"I am enthusiastic about the upcoming year. We have a highly skilled and experienced team returning along with a very talented incoming class, which will provide us with depth in every position."
Evansville's first member of its 2025 class is Lily Kytasaari (Platte City, Mo. / Platte County HS) who verbally committed in August of 2023. Kytasaari is a versatile player who can play in either the midfield or at forward for the Aces. During her high school career with the Pirates Kytasaari was part of the 2022 team that won over 80% of its matches and back-to-back Class 3 District Semifinal runs.
Individually Kytasaari has been named to three All-Conference teams, and three All-District teams while winning one Golden Boot Award and two Silver Boot Awards. Along with playing at the high school level, Kytasaari plays club soccer with Union KC Soccer Club. Lily is the daughter of Tylor and Robin Kytasaari and has two siblings, Keagan and Kaylee. Kytasaari plans to major in biology to become a nurse.
UE's second signing of 2025 is local midfielder Izzie Ryan (Evansville, Ind. / Castle HS) who committed in September of 2023. Ryan comes to Evansville from just outside the east side of the city with the Castle Knights. With the Knights, Ryan was part of the 3A Regional Championship in the fall against Center Grove. In the regional semifinals, Ryan scored a hat trick to send the Knights to the championship game. The year prior, Ryan helped the Knights to the 3A State Semifinals and in 2022 she was part of the Knights 3A Regional Championship run.
Individually Ryan has been named to the All-District First Team, multiple All-Conference awards, and multiple academic awards including making the Academic All-State Team in 2024. Along with her time at Castle, Ryan played club soccer with Racing Louisville Academy ECNL. Ryan is the daughter of Emily and Brock Ryan and plans to major in nursing at UE.
Evansville's third signing in their 2025 class is winger/midfielder Sofia McNabb (Alpharetta, Ga. / West Forsyth HS). McNabb will be reunited with former teammate Ashlyn Koutsos (Cumming, Ga. / West Forsyth HS) when she joins the Aces in the fall. With the Wolverines McNabb was part of two 6A State Championships in 2022 and 2024. McNabb also plays club soccer with Concorde Fire ECNL and has appeared in multiple ECNL showcases. McNabb is the daughter of James and Isabel McNabb and has one younger sister, Alicia.
UE's fourth 2025 signee is goalkeeper Emma Nathans (Toronto / Havergal College). Nathans comes to Evansville after a decorated club career with North Mississauga Soccer Club. Nathans played in both the Ontario League 1 and League 2 senior leagues and was a reserve for the U20 and U19 teams.
With Havergal College Nathans was part of two Regional Championships in the Independent Schools of Ontario league in 2022 and 2023. With the Gators, Nathans also was part of the 2023 team that qualified for the Ontario provincial tournament. Nathans is the daughter of Lara Nathans and plans to major in neuroscience at UE.
The Aces final addition of the 2025 signing day class is winger/forward Riley Renteria (Las Vegas / Faith Lutheran HS). Renteria also joins former teammates at Evansville as goalkeeper Elke Travis and defender Lindley Amick attended Faith Lutheran. With the Crusaders Renteria helped the team to four straight 5A State Championship matches. The Crusaders won two State Titles with Renteria on their roster in 2022 and 2024.
Renteria also plays on the club circuit with Las Vegas Heat Surf ECNL. With the Heat Surf Renteria played in the Surf Cup and two showcases the Florida and Dallas Showcase. Renteria is the daughter of Jesse and
Lisa Renteria and plans to major in business marketing at UE.
