ST. LOUIS – One day after being named to the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete Third Team, University of Evansville junior Cam Haffner earned a spot on the league's Most Improved Team. The league unveiled the All-Bench and Most Improved squads on Tuesday afternoon.
The teams, which were selected by a panel of the league's newspaper beat writers and a panel of media voters, are comprised of a minimum of five student-athletes (top five vote-getters, plus ties) on each squad.
Haffner showed one of the greatest improvements in the Missouri Valley Conference before an injury on Jan. 22 ended his season prematurely. He came close to doubling his scoring output, going from 6.6 PPG to 12.7 PPG this season. After posting four double digit scoring efforts in 2023-24, he had 13 in his 20 games this season.
His rebounding output doubled from 1.8 to 3.6 caroms per game while his overall shooting jumped from 40.1% to 45.9% in 2024-25. He posted the top game of his career against Green Bay, scoring 27 points. He added 25 points in the home game against Belmont and remains in the top ten in the Valley with 2.35 triples per contest.
