EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Saturday's season opener saw the University of Evansville swimming and diving teams compete against Bellarmine at Deaconess Aquatic Center. The Purple Aces women took a 103.5-101.5 win while the men fell by a final score of 145.5-59.5.

"I am really proud of how this team was able to race and compete today. Women came out on top and the men had some close races that didn't go our way today. The way everyone kept competing in this training cycle has me excited for the upcoming season," UE head swimming and diving coach Canaan Campbell said. "A big shoutout to diving with Levi setting 2 school records and qualifying for zones while Leah set 2 personal bests as well. It was a great day of racing; can't wait for what it is in store with this team!"
 
Highlighting the day was the performance on the boards by Levi McKinney. Fresh off a record setting 2025-26 campaign, McKinney picked up right where he left off. He set two school records on Saturday while qualifying for the NCAA zones. Leah Gardner set two personal bests as well.
 
The women had a strong day in the relays sweeping wins in the 200-medley and 400-free events. Hannah Krings picked up a victory in the 1000-free with a time of 11:13.64. Grace Moody took top honors in the 50-free with a 24.36 to win by close to a full second. Jadyn Dauphinais had a dominant effort in the 100-fly, winning by 1.94 seconds. Making her UE debut, Lily Clark was victorious in the 100-free with a time of 54.31 to win by just over a second. On the men's side, Victor Dyrhauge took the victory in the 100-fly with an effort of 51.49.
 
UE will be back at DAC next weekend to face Valparaiso. The Aces and Beacons meet up at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
