EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Back home for the first time in three weeks, the University of Evansville volleyball team welcomes Illinois State and Belmont to Meeks Family Fieldhouse. UE faces the Redbirds at 6 p.m. Friday before taking on the Bruins at 5 p.m. Saturday.

Last Time Out
- The Purple Aces dropped a pair of Missouri Valley Conference road matches at Valparaiso and UIC last weekend both in four sets
- Lyla Fisher paced the offense in both contests beginning with 12 kills at Valpo before a career-high 18 versus the Flames
 
Resetting Her Mark
- Lyla Fisher reset her career high with 18 kills in the road match at UIC
- Fisher has been on a roll in MVC contests averaging 3.04 kills while reaching double figures in five out of six matches
- Over her last five outings, Fisher is averaging 3.32 kills
- The recent spurt has seen her season average rise to 2.75, which is 12th in the MVC
- Fisher's previous high of 16 kills came in matches against TSU and UT Martin
 
In the Rankings
- Savannah Gogel has reached the threshold to qualify for MVC stat rankings
- Her rankings include blocks (4th-1.09/set), hitting (5th-.337), and kills (20th-2.46/set)
- Averaging 1.27 blocks and 2.55 kills per set in her first week, Gogel was named the MVC Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 22
- Gogel set her career mark with 14 kills in home matches versus USI and Bradley
- She played at Northern Illinois as a freshman with her top effort of 13 kills coming against Buffalo
 
Digging up the Ranking
- Brooke Herdes has seen increased playing time at libero and has taken her play to a new level
- She has posted at least nine digs in six of the last seven matches while averaging 3.21/set over that time
- Herdes recorded 21 digs in the win at Murray State before setting her career mark with 22 at Valparaiso
- She currently ranks 24th in the MVC with a season average of 2.21 per set
 
Upping Her Game
- Carsyn Kelley posted an average of 9.63 assists per set in the first six MVC matches
- For the season, she is averaging 8.77 assists, which is third in the MVC
- Defensively, she has been making strides, registering at least eight digs in seven of the last nine matches while averaging 2.67/set over that time
- Kelley's top mark of 49 assists came in the win over USI
 
Scouting the Opponent
- Illinois State opens the weekend with a 13-4 overall mark while sitting at 4-2 in the Valley
- Jillian Ferrell leads the Redbirds with n verge of 2.71 kills per set
- Belmont is 8-9 overall but has opened conference play by winning five of their opening six matches
- They are led by Brenna Kauffeld's 2.76 kills per set
