NASHVILLE, Tenn. – With seven kills apiece Savannah Gogel and McKenzie Laubach paced the University of Evansville volleyball team in a 3-0 loss at Belmont on Saturday evening.

Gogel hit an efficient .400 in the contest and registered a pair of blocks. Laubach hit .333 while adding two digs, a block, and ace. Brooke Herdes led the way with 11 digs while Carsyn Kelley added 24 assists. Lucy Kay and Sydnee Nelson led the Bruins with 12 and 11 kills, respectively.

Set 1 – Belmont 25, UE 22
A solo block by McKenzie Laubach was followed by a Carsyn Kelley ace that gave UE a 2-0 lead. The Bruins responded with five in a row to go up 5-2 before the Aces came back to tie the score at 5-5. Savannah Gogel put the lead back in UE's hands at 9-8 until Belmont knotted the score at 9-8. Things turned the Bruins' way over the next sequence as they utilized a 7-1 run to go up 15-11. Evansville got back within two points on multiple occasions before BU finished off the set.

Set 2 – Belmont 25, UE 12
Ryan Scheu got UE on the board with a kill; however, Belmont scored the next five points and would extend their lead to 12-4. They cruised to a 25-12 decision and a 2-0 match lead.

Set 3 – Belmont 25, UE 17
Another big start saw the Bruins go up by a 9-3 score. Their lead reached as many as eight points at 17-9 before UE worked to close the gap. Kills from Savannah Gogel and Holland Morris made it a 5-point game at 19-14 until Belmont came back to finish the match with a 25-17 win.
