Baseball Travels to Nashville for Midweek Test at Vanderbilt

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Evansville baseball team will play their fourth consecutive game against an SEC opponent on Tuesday, traveling to Nashville to battle perennial power Vanderbilt. First pitch is set for 4:30 PM.

Series History
- Vanderbilt leads the all-time series, 44-19
- The teams have met 11 times since 2012, with Vanderbilt winning the last eight meetings
- Evansville's last win over the Commodores came in 2014, an 8-3 win in Nashville

SEC Shutout
- Evansville knocked off #18 Kentucky in game two of Saturday's doubleheader, blanking the Wildcats 1-0 
- Kevin Reed got the win with six shutout innings, limiting the Wildcats to three hits while striking out five
- Freshman Tanner Graham picked up his first career save by firing three shutout innings to close the game, allowing just one hit
- The shutout was Evansville's first over a Top-25 opponent since March 7, 2010, a 2-0 win at #10 Pepperdine

Starting Strong
- Redshirt sophomore Aaron Nehls has enjoyed a strong start to his 2026 campaign, hitting .313 in 16 at-bats
- Nehls leads the team with 4 RBI early in the season and has posted two multi-hit performances in five games
- Nehls drove in the lone run in Evansville's 1-0 win over Kentucky on a two-out single in the second inning

Bye-Berg
- Senior reliever Owen Byberg has been outstanding in his first two appearances of the season
- In 9 innings of work, Byberg has posted a sparkling 2.00 ERA and 0.78 WHIP
- The right-hander has struck out 6 without allowing a walk, while holding opponents to a .219 batting average
- In Friday's appearance against Kentucky, Byberg struck out five and allowed one earned run in five innings
