EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Murray State limited the University of Evansville softball team to just two hits as they took the series finale by a final of 3-1 on Saturday at Tri-State Orthopaedics Field at Cooper Stadium.

Evansville opened the scoring in the bottom of the first. With the bases loaded, Jess Willsey was hit by a pitch to bring in the first run of the contest. Murray State countered with two runs in the top of the second to take the lead. They tacked on a third run in the third and would keep the Purple Aces scoreless from that point.

Racer pitcher Bre Haislip entered with two outs in the first inning and limited UE to one hit while striking out three over the final 6 1/3 frames. Alexis Tucker went 1 2/3 innings in the start allowing two unearned runs. Kate Ridgway threw the final 5 1/3 innings with one run scoring.

Evansville's two hits belonged to Brooke Voss and Willsey. Next weekend UE will be at Drake for a 3-game series.
