Softball travels to Bradley for 3-game series

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Two Missouri Valley Conference road series are on the docket for the University of Evansville softball team beginning this weekend with a trip to Peoria, Ill. for a 3-game series at Bradley. Action begins on Friday with a 2:30 p.m. doubleheader with Saturday's finale beginning at 2 p.m.; all three games will be on ESPN+.

Midweek Power
- Maliyah Wilkins hit home runs in both non-conference games earlier this week for the Purple Aces including a grand slam against Western Kentucky
- The performances earlier this week give Wilkins 29 RBI on the season; she is tied for the team lead and tied for 14th in the MVC
- In the win over SEMO, she was 2-3 with two RBI before hitting a grand slam vs. WKU
- Wilkins was a perfect 4-of-4 from the plate in Evansville's game two victory over Northern Iowa; the 4-hit game was her highest tally this season
 
Still Going Strong
- Niki Bode continues to lead the Aces with a .396 batting average and 15 doubles; her doubles tally is second in the MVC while her average is 5th
- Bode has performed even better against Valley foes batting .411
- In 16 games since March 14, Bode is batting .440 going 22-for-50
- While a 6-game hit streak came to an end in the opener at Southern Illinois, Bode picked up a hit in game two of the doubleheader
 
On a Roll
- Over the last 10 games, Taylor Howe is batting .438 with 14 hits in 32 at-bats
- The surge has seen Howe improve her season batting average to .325
- She has scored a team-best 30 runs which is tied for 16th in the MVC while her nine doubles are tied for 12th in the league
- She went 2-3 with two runs against Bellarmine before going 3-6 in the doubleheader versus UNI
 
Near the Top
- With 115 strikeouts on the season, Kate Ridgway is second in the MVC and 38th in the nation
- Ridgway has won eight games in 2026 while posting a 3.75 ERA
- She picked up win #8 of the year tossing a complete game against SEMO; she allowed one run on four hits
- The effort got her back on track following starts versus UNI and SIU that saw her give up 10 runs (9 earned) in 8 innings; in the 32 1/3 innings before the UNI series, she allowed just four earned runs
