BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana scored four runs in the bottom of the first before finishing with an 8-0 victory over the University of Evansville softball team on Wednesday evening at Andy Mohr Field.

IU jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the first when Aly VanBrandt and Avery Parker hit home runs. Keghan Pye singled in the first while Eliza Piggott hit a single in the second, but neither turned into a run. Ashtyn Holbrook added the third UE hit in the top of the 5
th.

The Hoosiers added single runs in the third and fourth before completing the victory with two scores in the bottom of the 6
th. Taylor Hess picked up the win for IU tossing five shutout innings while allowing three hits. Elle Jarrett suffered the loss giving up five runs, four earned, in two innings. Sophia Otten threw the final 3 2/3 innings.
