EVANSVILLE, Ind. - The University of Evansville baseball team earned the American Baseball Coaches Association 2025-26 Team Academic Excellence Award on Wednesday, honoring ABCA member programs that posted a cumulative team GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale during the 2025-26 academic year.

To qualify, a program was required to meet the following criteria:

• Be a high school or college baseball program
• Have a head coach who is a current ABCA member
• Post a minimum cumulative team GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for the 2025-26 academic year

For the 2025-26 school year, the UE baseball program posted a team GPA of 3.46. Five Aces – Ryan Seddon (Joliet, Ill./St. Laurence), Max Hansmann (Elmhurst, Ill./York), Reid Haire (Hudson, N.C./Charlotte), Owen Byberg (Barrie, Ontario/Frontier CC), and Chris McCormack (Naperville, Ill./Iowa Central CC) - were named to the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete Team, while Hansmann, Haire, Byberg, and McCormack were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.
